- Bay windows overall consist of two regular and one picture window, while bow windows are completely curved and create an exterior rounded appearance.
- Bay windows protrude further out into the exterior, which adds more interior floor space.
- Bow windows are wider than bays as the latter generally only has three panels.
- Bow windows can wrap around building corners, forming an exterior turret shape.
